Music in the Cathedral
The music scene in the Cathedral is rich and varied. In addition to the music for the religious services, Musikk i Nidarosdomen (Music in the Cathedral) holds many concerts in the Cathedral in the course of a year, featuring the Cathedral's own artists and others. There is a special music service every Saturday and this has become an popular event in the city's music scene. Musikk i Nidarosdomen's series of concerts consist of organ recitals, recitals featuring other instruments, choir recitals and major religious music works. Look into "What's on" in the menu on the right side of this page.
Each summer there are international organ recitals, featuring organists from Norway and abroad, with the newly restored baroque organ from 1741 as one of the major attractions.
The Cathedral has five permanent choirs:
* Nidarosdomens Guttekor - boys choir
* Nidarosdomens Jentekor - girls choir
* Nidarosdomens Oratoriekor - adult choir
* Nidaros Domkor - - adult chamber choir
* Schola Sanctae Sunnivae - female gregorian choir
