Why do you have to buy a ticket?
Nidaros Cathedral receives an annual fund from the government budget for restoration works and to promote its historical value through guided tours and special events. Today, this government donation makes up about 50% of the necessary costs to maintain this Norwegian national treasure. The income we get from ticket sales helps to make up the additional funds necessary to keep Nidaros Cathedral as splendid now as it ever was.
