The royal regalia are symbols of the king's power and majesty, and of the monarchy as a form of government.
The Norwegian royal crown was commissioned by King Carl XIV Johan for his coronation in 1818. Since then, the crown has been used in four coronations and two consecration ceremonies.
The Norwegian Crown Regalia consist of the King's Crown, Orb and Sceptre, the Sword of State, the Queen's Crown, Orb and Sceptre, the Crown Prince's Coronet, the Anointment Horn, and the Royal Standards from 1818 and 1906.
